"He fears me"

This was a Halloween strip from a couple of years ago parodying "The Great Pumkin". (Of course) I LOVE "Peanuts" and worked really hard to match the great Charles Schulz's style for this gag. Happy (Slightly delayed) Halloween!

The Tenth Anniversary!!!

As a character, Dandy has been around since 1982. But it was on October 11th, 2001 that his online adventures began. And while this isn't the exact of of the hiatus he'd LIKE, it is coming before the year is out.

The future...

When we last left Dandy & Co., things were weird! Bernard's parents had split up after years of wedded... um... hate. Bernard was having to travel back and forth from the condo his Mom shared with his Grandmother, while George had a very... crappy... new job as a cleaner at the local zoo.

And as seen in the strip above, Dandy had a run in with one of his little brother Mistake's inventions. In the aftermath, things were uncertain as Bernard was falling prey to pranks Dandy couldn't have done. And as for Dandy himself... he was acting REALLY strange! He was acting... NICE!?!?!

Aaaaand that's where I left the story. It's been months with no new material as I juggle boring, real life nonsense. But lately I've been feeling the ITCH. No, not THAT itch. I have a spray for THAT. No, I mean the itch to tell new "Dandy & Co." stories. The thing is, I really don't like where I left the strip off. My plan was to write an "ending" to the strip leaving the characters a little more grown up and in different places. I really wanted to make a real finale. I don't really want to do that anymore.

So, I'm being fickle. "Dandy & Co." is coming back. I'll be drawing new strips soon and a brand new, comic book style story I've been wanting to tell for over a decade. The future of Dandy & Co. might not be what you were expecting. You may be downright ticked off by what I'm planning. But I promise that it won't be BORING.

I was quite proud to discover that the strip inspired it's own entry on the ever-fun "TV TROPES" page, pointing out manic glee I take in milking EVERY CLICHÉ humanly possible throughout the strips run.

An Alternate Archive

While I'd like to get as much of the old archive of strips up and online as is possible, I also want to focus on the creation of NEW material. Thankfully, it turns out I can kinda have that cake and eat it too, thanks to "WORLD FAMOUS COMICS".

It was recently brought to my attention that there were quite a few major storylines that were collected and archived on "WORLD FAMOUS COMICS" that I completely forgot I approved for the fine folks over there to do. (Silly artist that I am.)

Oh, and just because I'm STILL geeking out about it, the intrepid person that sought out and FOUND this archive just to read the strips? JEFF "BONE" SMITH!

A New home...

Hey there, Dandy fans new and old. As many of you may know the old "Dandy & Company" website went down a while back and has been down ever since due to financial considerations beyond my control. As such, I'm rebuilding the "D&C" online experience HERE. Now, obviously, this new format is pretty bare bones with little in the way of frills and extras. Really, this is basically just the place to find links to the existing print collections and to see when new material goes online.

It's maybe not the IDEAL solution, but it's a solution and I hope you enjoy the new material when i t begins running (with any luck) this fall.
